The Fluke 1AC-II VoltAlert Voltage Detector has a 200V to 1000V AC test range and provides an audible beep, as well as a visible red glow at its tip, when a voltage is detected. The user simply touches the tip on a terminal strip, outlet, or power lead to test the presence of a voltage.
Page 30: Continuity 1587 FC/1587/1577 Users Manual Continuity The continuity test features a beeper that sounds as long as a circuit is complete. The beeper allows you to perform quick continuity tests without having to watch the display. To test for continuity, set up the Meter as shown in Figure 6. Page 31: Diodes (All 1587 Models)
does not beep (beeping indi-cates continuity). He removes the junction box cover and discovers that the thermostat wires were inadvertently cut. He repairs the wires and checks the system again. This time the continuity function beeps when he places the thermostat into the heating mode. He removes the 233 meter, removes the lockout/
Today I was searching for the cause of a breaker tripping. Unrelated to the breaker tripping but on the same circuit are four 70w pulse start metal halide fixtures. When testing continuity from hot to ground my meter would give me a pulsating continuity beep as seen in the video. I still got the...

Beep continuity test:√ ... (20 Vpp sine) it correctly showed from 1 to up 20 MHz, the most my function generator can do (my Fluke 87 V tops out at 1 MHz). This was in the Hz dial position, in the VAC position it read fine until about 70 kHz.
I did not understanding why a Fluke meter beeped when I was checking "continuity" from X1 of control transformer to A1 on motor starter coil even though I had not pushed the start button and stop button did not stop beep either. My craftsman meter won't beep for this test usually until I push start and quits when I push stop.
The digital multimeter (DMM) beeps if a complete path (continuity) is detected. If the circuit is open (the switch is in the OFF position), the DMM will not beep. When finished, turn the multimeter OFF to preserve battery life. Continuity testing overview. Continuity is the presence of a complete path for current flow.
I find the beep on my Fluke on the Diode test useful, it beeps continuously below 200Ω, one short beep between 200Ω and 2kΩ, no beep over 2k. It saves me from looking at the dial. On the resistance range there is no beep.
